If one of the side effects is weight loss why would they give it to me to help reduce my weight? I was given this Metformin to control my weight because obesity is a side effect of polycystic ovaries, but one of the side effects of this metformin is weight gain? Should I be concerned that I will gain more weight?

You need to go back to your doctor and ask more questions. Metformin is an oral medication used to treat diabetes. Are your blood sugars high? Did the doctor do an Hgb A1C blood test? What were the results? What do the results mean? ASK...ASK...ASK! Don%26#039;t just assume that because they have M.D. after their name that they are always right!!
