Whitch is better for overall weight loss, toneing and firming walking or cycling?
I am wanting to lose weight as well as toan and firm and have joined a gym with tred mills and stanary bikes whitch one will benife me the most walking on the treid mill or riding the bike I have been doing 20 mins on each working my way to 30 on each is my goal,

do both. use the treadmill for a 20 min session then jump on the bike for 20 min. go back and forth, varying the intensity of both. also put in a weight training circuit. the more you use one piece of equipment and continually go the same pace the less your body will respond. mix it up. for what its worth cycle is better for your joints.

Your body will benefit from the cardiovascular workouts to burn fat, but also lift weights to create more muscle which in turn will burn more calories. Your diet is also a big factor, you have to burn more calories than you consume in order to lose weight. Hope that%26#039;s helpful.

Walking/Jogging, whenever you%26#039;re free, head to anywhere with a %26quot;safe%26quot; (no cars) walking track. Cycling also helps, but you use much less energy.

Walking and cycling will help you tone and firm up... Sounds like you%26#039;re doing the right things! The best thing though is to do %26quot;one minute sprints%26quot; on the treadmill too.

if you really want to lose weight you have to RUN on or off the treadmill/cycle as fast as you can to the point that you want to throw up.
but first walk for 5-10minutes as a warm up.
also practice a martial art.that will really tone your body after a few years.
you should do at least 100 sit ups every day if ur an adult.

In order to use up all the stored fat in your body as energy you will need to speed walk for about 30-45 minutes. Your body will know to burn to the fat as energy, but the only way it work is if you walk or slow jog for 30-45 minutes.
Just because the person next to is running or sprinting doesn%26#039;t mean you have to!

Walking is generally perceived as better than cycling. While walking one can carry weights, move arms and entire body more freely than when on a bike. There is nothing wrong with continuing to exercise by both walking and cycling.

If you want to lose weight, I,d say toning. If you want to tone but not lose weight , cycling. I love to cycle and it tones the heck out of you, but you don,t lose the weight. You just firm and tone up muscles.If the midsection is what needs to go, toning and more stomach exercise work, and probably the best way to lose the spare tire is jumping rope and aerobic exercises without putting on weight. Look at boxers. they turn to stone. Too extreme at my age.
