What has been your experience with %26quot;Spinning%26quot;, especially when it comes to weight loss? As a 30yr old male who is feeling stuck in a fitness rut (shooting hoops a few times a week, light lifting), im looking to try something new and fun, and someone recommended spinning. It seems fun and i heard its quite challenging, but im not sure if its the right thing for me. Right now Im looking to drop a few pounds and get more toned for summer, and hopefully add to my overall endurance (which helps with the b-ball).

I would love to hear peoples experience with Spinning - how effective or ineffective it has been with their overall fitness goals, as well as any other information about different types, potential injuries, what to avoid, etc.

Any input is appreciated!

well... lets just air it out. you asked... :)

spinning is great! its super challenging if you haven%26#039;t done it before - but you will lose weight. promise you that. but - just be warned - not only is it challenging - if your butt isn%26#039;t calloused to a bicycle seat - be prepared to walk like you%26#039;ve been on a horse for a couple days :) seriously - it hurts... but the more you go - the more you lose - the more calloused your butt gets - the better you are. :) LOL - it sounds funny - but I%26#039;m serious. You should look into getting some cycling shorts with the padded butt area - they look goofy but you%26#039;ll have an apprecaition for them like never before after your first spin class.

good luck! go to the class - it really is great for you... and fun because your in that group setting and you can really challenge yourself. :) been there... done that. :) 75% 3 Votes

  • Its a decent aerobic workout, I do it occasionally in addition to my usual swimming, cycling and running. 0% 0 Votes
  • I usually do spinning workouts when I go to the gym in my hometown...It really tones your muscles and provides solid definition without adding any new muscle. It can be a little challenging for the first two weeks, but your body gets used to sitting on the bike, which can cause some pain in the booty area for both men and women. lol enjoy falling in love with this workout..it can become addictive. :) 25% 1 Vote
