Realistic weight loss ? i have joined weight watchers and lost 4.5 llbs in my first week.
this is my second week and i have also been to the gym 4 times and done 30 - 40 minutes cardio each time. how much would a realistic weight loss be per week ?

congratulations!!!! You are definitely on your way. Weight Watchers is designed to give you a %26quot;fast start%26quot;, helps keep you motivated to keep going. If you stick with the plan though, you should probably expect to lose an average of 2lbs a week. Remember some weeks will be better than others so don%26#039;t get discouraged. Good luck!

  • Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.

    Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.

    U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.
  • About 2lbs a week is what you should ideally be losing every week. Well done for losing 4.5lbs in your first week you have done very well. Just keep it up
  • I would say 1-3 pounds per week. The broad range is because when you first start working out (Cardio or Weights) you will gain/come out equal the first week or so. I was saddened when I went to my weigh in, thinking that I was going to have lost at least 4 pounds, but my WW rep reassured me that it was due to my body getting %26quot;used%26quot; to the exercise and the weight will come flying off very soon! And she was right! Just stick to it. =) Be sure you%26#039;re getting enough water.
  • Depending on how much you weigh if you weigh more you lose your water weight so gradually 4-5 pounds. But if you weigh a less then you will only lose 2-3 pounds a week. It all depends how much you weigh and how your body works.
  • As long as you are eating right with this kind of workout, you could average 3 pounds a week! Drink plenty of water too!

  • That depends on how much weight you really need to lose. I have always heard that it is healthy to lose about 1 pound per week. If you are trying to lose a large amount of weight, you can consistantly lose more than that each week.
  • 1 to 2 pounds is realistic. When you first start off on a diet, you are losing more water than anything and then it slows down to 1 to 2 pounds a week which is more realistic. You can keep it off longer if you lose it slowly. If we try to lose it too fast our bodies go into starvation mode which make us want to eat more junk foods. I have struggled with this most of my life; 41 years old now. I have learned new eating habits through Quick Weight Loss Center near my house; it has really helped me out a lot. You can do it, too!   • I joined weight watchers last march. Since then I have lost 39lbs. The first week I lost 5lbs and thereafter I have lost on a average between 3lbs and 2lbs. I also joined a gym, doing 40/50 minutes of cardio each time, which I think has accelerated my weight loss. You will feel so much more healthier, confident and have a lot more energy.

    I wish you lots of luck with your weight loss. Just stick with it. The results are absolutely amazing.
  • Weight loss possibilities depend on your current height %26amp; weight. It%26#039;s safe for the average person to lose 1-2 lbs a week, but if you%26#039;re overweight them 3-4 would be okay too, talk to your Dr to see what would be best for you to strive for.
  • to be honest the best way is not to go on a diet as ive tried them all and diet pills and they dont work lol but just change your diet and go swimming 4-5 times a week for about an hour each time it tones your tummy and all your body up wonderful too ! i lost just over 2 1/2 stone since may its great and i eat loads too im just eating the right foods but instead of swimming try aqua arobics its great and really fun ! great question goodluck !
