You gain or lose weight based on only two things, the number of calories you consume and the number of calories you burn. As long as you burn more than you consume, over time, you will lose weight. Water has essentially NO calories, zero, nada, none, but does contain minerals in trace amounts you need, so drinking water IS good for you but it neither helps or hurts your calorie balance. Most adults of average size, lose about 2 quarts of water in a typical day sitting around and doing nothing bet being a couch potato, more if you exercise. Water can help suppress your appetite on a temporary basis. If you drink a pint of water when hungry, your hunger pains will be suppressed for a while, which will help you eat less, thereby helping you in reducing your calorie intake. Combine less calories in, and exercise to increase your calorie use and you will lose weight over time. A loss or gain of a few pounds is a normal daily fluctuation, which is mainly because of water weight. Most diet supplements which say many pounds a day, are simply causing the body to reduce the amount of water carried by the body. As fast as it comes off, it comes back. The only way to lose weight on a long term basis is to eat less and burn more and do this every day for a long time. Water by itself will NOT help or hurt you in your weight loss effort. Not enough water and you die. Too much water and you die. Use some common sense and drink when thirsty. Anticipate and drink a little more in advance of exercise.

Drink 6 to 8 glass of water per day. You can work it out for yourself. Drink half in the morning and half in the afternoon. Don%26#039;t overdo it because it CAN be harmful too.

Hi! I may be wrong but water doesn%26#039;t help you lose weight. It%26#039;s just better to drink water than to drink coffee, sodas, that kind of thing. Your body is already primarily made up of water, so I don%26#039;t see how adding more water to your dieting would help you lose weight. We need nourishments for our bodies, so if you%26#039;re only drinking water during the day, yes you will lose weight but it%26#039;s not the healthy way. Eat 5 small meals a day, replace your normal choice of drink with water or juice that has no high fructose corn syrup and excersise daily. Stay well.

well if you eat a bag of snickers bars with it then your water consumption is not important, diet and excersize are also important
