  • thats good to know. I want to be losing my stomache as well. How many do you do???
  • No, they do not burn enough calories to make any difference. You wouldn%26#039;t lose weight fast enough from just doing one thing one time to notice any difference anyway. You may just be noticing your body finally adapting to the cardio work, as well as the fact that your abs may have become swollen from the crunches and making your stomach seem more toned. Intense cardio and crunches and weighted situps amongst other things will really slim you down and tone you up though!
  • Hell Yes. Especially when done right before or right after cardio. I lost 20 lbs doing cardio and abs and I did only one day a week with legs and upper body.
  • No you need to crunches and eat right that what help you! good luck and God bless!
  • Crunches really tighten the stomach muscles, so yes they work. It takes time but you%26#039;ll get there. Usually doing about 100 a day works fine for me, but I%26#039;m a girl so I don%26#039;t know if it differs with males and females.
  • your body got used to doing all cardio so its not affecting it anymore.... just like when you starve yourself, it holds on to all the nutrients and calories it can to survive. Try to lift weights (if your not already) and cut back on the cardio, 3-4 times a week on cardio at 25-30 minutes a session is PLENTY!
  • it depends hoe much you weigh, if you weigh allot then yes, if no you will gain muscle weight.
  • After a while you may start gaining weight because your muscle mass is growing in that area because musclae weighs more than fat. For instance, if you took the arm of a ripped football player and someone with mostly fat on their arm%26#039;s, the football player%26#039;s would weigh more unless the amount of fat on the person%26#039;s arm far surpassed the football player%26#039;s muscle. Hope I cleared things up!!
  • Crunches mainly work muscles, not lose fat. If you want to be ripped, do crunches, if you want to be flat, run. Running burns excess fat stored in large reserves (normally your belly)
  • Crunches strengthen muscles, not shed calories. I suppose if you do enough, you could still work up a sweat and lose some weight ( small amount though ).
  • They will not help weight loss, but they will help flatten the stomach. When muscle is formed in the abdominals, the body needs to retain more calories. Your stomach will become more toned, and flat.

    - Eat right, and continue to do cardio. It should work fine. ( keep up those crunches )
  • yes they do work. crunches, cardio and a healthy eating regimen will give you results even quicker.
  • They dont help with weight loss but they do help tone muscle in your abdomen. Cardo helps with weight loss. Running, jogging, swimming etc. Also of course your diet helps a lot too.
