Step 4: Make sure that based on steps 1, 2 and 3 you have a daily caloric deficit (i.e. that every day you are taking in fewer calories than you burn). A 500 calorie per day caloric deficit will let you lose about a pound of fat per week on average.
Step 5: Listen to your body and tweek your diet and exercise regimen to allow you to lose a moderate amount of weight over time. If you%26#039;re not losing a pound a week, then work out 15 minutes more a day and/or drop 100 calories out of your diet every day and see what happens, for example.
