There isn%26#039;t really anything you should say unless your friend asks you. An overweight person has to want to lose the weight and in my opinion....whatever you say about this subject to your friend might back-fire and create tension between you.

tell them how easy it is to lose weight ( its a lie ) but encouage em and say how much better u feel since u lost weight tell em the good parts
