high fiber diets have a lot more benefits than just regulating the stool so it isn%26#039;t small %26amp; skinny like you say. for example the heart benefits, lowering bad cholesterol and it takes more calories to digest the food. you also end up consuming less carbs because you can subtract the fiber from the total amount of carbs on the label
